Togg T10X

Local vision's safety fortress, software's thorny path.

0/ 100

Manufacturer: Togg

While the Togg T10X aims for the top in safety with its 5-star Euro NCAP rating, chronic software and after-sales service issues overshadow the overall experience. Its smart device vision is ambitious, but core functionality and reliability fall short of expectations.

Review

While the Togg T10X represents Turkey's domestic automobile vision, this ambitious start paints a contradictory picture in the field. On one hand, you have a structure that aims for the top in safety with its 5-star Euro NCAP rating; on the other, there are chronic software issues that make daily use difficult. This situation questions the claim of being a "smart device," complicates the ownership experience, and overshadows the promised comfort.

In the city, the T10X stands out with its maneuverability and ease of parking; its wide field of view and sensors allow you to move comfortably even in tight spaces. However, long journeys and especially cold weather conditions significantly reduce range expectations. At temperatures between 1-8 degrees, battery consumption skyrockets, the promised range values remain theoretical, and the constant search for charging stations becomes exhausting. This poses a significant disadvantage, particularly for those with long-distance travel plans, shaking the reliability of range, which is one of the core pillars of the electric vehicle experience.

The interior design is modern and spacious, and the large trunk volume offers practicality for families, reducing luggage worries on long trips. Yet, this practicality is overshadowed by fundamental quality issues like water leaking into the trunk or vibrations in the brakes. The biggest problem, however, lies on the software front. Screen freezes, a feature suddenly not working, or even ADAS systems like lane keeping malfunctioning after updates directly impact driving safety and comfort. Togg's "smart device" vision, with its own app store and integrated entertainment systems, is appealing, but it cannot fully demonstrate its potential due to these fundamental software errors.

When you encounter a problem, after-sales services result in vehicles staying in service for days, even weeks, with issues often remaining unresolved. This situation can also negatively affect the ownership cost and depreciation of the vehicle. Looking at other C-SUV electric competitors in the market, the Togg T10X's success in safety is admirable and a significant draw for families with children. However, alternatives in the same price segment offer a much more consistent experience in terms of software stability and after-sales support.

If supporting domestic production, having 5-star Euro NCAP safety, and essentially enjoying a comfortable driving experience in the city are your priorities, and you are tolerant of software issues, the T10X might appeal to you. However, if you are looking for consistent long-range mileage, a seamless software experience, and reliable service support, opting for competitors like the MG ZS EV or BYD Atto 3 would be a more sensible and less risky choice. While the Togg T10X has high potential, it's difficult to fully recommend it without addressing its fundamental shortcomings.
